The minimum pc specs i had last time was Pentium4 with 512mb ram. Installed XP os for only 30min. Maybe your hardware has problem.

Amped, I would'nt even try to use windows 7 if my xp installs for 1 hour.

The reason Windows installs slower is because They are very large OS's

Seriously though, Mint is an all-around lighter operating system. It runs great on 256mb of RAM.
Dude, that answer made me lol the way you posted it.

Okay, well:

A) It is your opinion alone that I am "one of the best members of SF".

B) I do not have to live up to your expectations. Contrary to your apparent belief, I am not perfect, nor do I wish to be. I also do not appreciate being sucked up to, so if you are attempting to do that, please, don't.

C) Learn English.

Your HDD might not have an awsome write speed.

That's weird. I've never had it take longer than 40mins and I've installed it on a machine that had 512MB ram and a 1.8GhZ speed. It might just be your HD read/write speed. If that's not the case you might have some hard drive issues.

Just forget the Windows haters dude..;)

For me, installing Windows XP Pro, takes an average of between
15-18 minutes, to get to the 'Windows Tour' nonsense.

That is without the additional updating of drivers for graphics, sound card etc, which takes about another 10 minutes or so.

That is also based upon, installing onto a 20 GB partiton.

And my PC is 3 years old.
