I voted for Gears.. IMO, it's the best shooter series out there. It's not a FPS, so people tend to avoid it but I love the game.

The story, campaign, MP, etc. I think it's all very well put together for the most part.

If it wasn't for Gears, it would probably be CoD, and then Halo.

I'm going to be honest, Counter-Strike 1.6 is probably the most successful FPS game to this day which requires real skill. Although the graphics are terrible since it runs on the original Half-Life engine, the gameplay is amazing. I wish there was a reskin of 1.6 but exact same gameplay. There are too many gameplay modifications in Source.

I was very hesitant to choose Call of Duty because they're getting worse, but Call of Duty 4 was one of the best games I have ever played.
EDIT: If it did not exist Halo would have bean my choice.
