Hey rofl I put together a parts list for my friend the other day. It was done on a budget of 600 and actually came out to be 453 after rebates. It doesn't include a case because that is a matter of taste.

The XFX Geforce 9600 GSO is the GPU i have, it is great for the cash.
As for a MB, I would suggest getting a SLI ready MB. Incase you do want to run SLI in the future.
I don't have time to look for one right now, maybe later today.

It depends on what your doing but I recommend 3Gb of memory at the bare minimum, and a high quality Dual Core, or a Quad Core processor. Get a good graphics card with at least 512Mb of memory. I suggest Nvidia GTX 260 and above. The rest is up to you and make sure you always keep yourself grounded when building.

My side panels are customed air brushed with triple clear coat. The 295's are good, but I suggest you wait for Nvidia's 3xx series gpus to come out first.
