Well, I haven't been able to uninstall Quicktime
because this is my work computer and I can't install/uninstall without the system administrator's approval - and he's out of the office until next week. So...if any of you have any other ideas it would be a great help. In the WMP I can't find a "set as default" or other type option. This situation has been incredibly frustrating because I have to switch back and forth from FF and IE.

Well, if you have to keep switching, why not get
IE Tab ? Extension Description: "IE Tab - an extension from Taiwan, features: Embedding Internet Explorer in tabs of Mozilla/Firefox. If you need some instructions. Please visit our official website on http://ietab.mozdev.org" FW

Quote:I can't install/uninstall without the Simple. He probably made your account "limited". So, reboot the machine, and press F8 the entire time while rebooting, untill a black screen appears, with the option of Safe Mode on it. Select Safe Mode (using the arrow keys) and let the computer come up. When it finally loads, it should either take you to the desktop or take you to the login screen, with the account "Administrator" there. If you click it, it should log you in, as the Administrator (in safe mode). Now go to your User Accounts, in Control Panel (depending on what version of windows you use), and find your account. Once you have found your account, go in and make it an Administative Account. Now you need to reboot the maching, and let it come up normal. Login, as yourself, and you should be an Administrator. Now you can do everything that HE can do. _ISR_m3rc_

ISR,
I tried what you said but this problem occured. After booting in safe mode the login would come up and it would have my userID in it. There wasn't an option to log in as administrator, or bypass the login, or anything. I logged in as my user name in safe mode, but it wouldn't let me change the user accounts without logging in as an administrator. Any other ideas?
Do you have windows Pro or Home, or something
else? -Beta

um...I would assume it's windows Pro. I work
for a University, and I believe that they have the latest version you would use for business.

Let's see here.
I attached a file, for hacking the administrator account. If it comes up at the windows welcome login screen, where it shows everybody's account, I'd try cracking his password. (Just don't get caught). It might be password drowssap 123 1234 12345 123456 1234567 1234578 his name, or something like that. Try reading the file I attached, and see if it works. _ISR_m3rc_ |
