ok i want to completly restore vista

Well alls i can say is that, i put XP on and ive cum accross a problem thats driving me crazy, every half a hour or so the screen just turns off! ive tryed everything

If your monitor turns off then it is your monitor if the screen goes black then its your computer which one is it?

Ok m8 i have a advent 5431 laptop, and every half a hour or so the screen just shuts off completly but the power of the laptop stays on?

ive tryed everything and i mean everything i no, changed power setting, updated drivers, give it a blow out, reset ram chips and cmos battery, took battery out and help power button in to get rid of power inside laptop, ive only just reset the cmos battery and it seems to be doing ok. but i wont be supprised if it goes of anytime now

Now i just think i need a new screen with costs about £100 and is pointless buying cause new laptops now with 3 gig of ram are only £330
