Obvious some attemt to scam, delete the email

True, but to the general average user, you'd have a better attempt at gaining the card information the way they set it up for you. Most others that i've seen included buying a product or something for internet security. Then the link would supposedly pop up an area for credit card information conveniently. To most people, whether they are willing to put the info in or not, some people just might not want that "product" regardless of whether or not they feel it was legit.
