OK, try this.
Don't use any gradients, at all.
When you're done, just use the colour balance thing.
Use it on top of all the other layers. If you think a certain c4d or whatever doesn't have the right colour, put a colour balance layer above the c4d and press ctrl+alt+g that way the layer only affects the one below it.
