I will not suggest Ubuntu as there are many things you may need to learn and many errors you may have to face however, I would suggest you go with the Linux Mint as a second operating system as it is easy to understand and will have a better security comapred to other operating systems.

I doubt you'd want it but for my netbook I'm putting two OS's on it one for school work called "Edubuntu" It seems pretty sweet to have, and I'm positive my school would approve.

And It depends on personal style, one can't simply be 'better'. But what I've seen from macs personally there sweet.

@Currymanz I see, so if i will choose linux then i will 100% choose mint now
@Extra yeah i heard about compatibility problems also, but once i get all drivers set up will it work smooth?

Go for windows 7 if it's only or everyday use.
