I was spanked as a kid, now I'm a cop. So apparently you're wrong.

Every child can be reasoned with one way or another and it should not lead into physical punishment. This teaches kids that physical aggression is acceptable, in the same way as having an alcoholic parent will give kids the idea that excessive drinking is okay.

Physical aggression is required at times, it is acceptable. And about the alcohol, it may teach kids when they are young that it's ok, but about 10 and up you start to learn otherwise. And there really is nothing wrong with excessive drinking in and of itself. Except it's bad for your health. It's the things that stem from it that make it unwise.
