How to release memory fast in Firefox?

My computer just has 256MB RAM. I find that it always occupies much memory, after opening several Web pages. I can close all the Web pages and exit Fire fox and then restart it. However, if I do this, I cannot get back my Web pages.
Can I release the memory without closing the Web pages? |
