The first and main reason - Sony Ericsson's earphones suck. If it's one of those models that doesn't have a regular 3,5mm output, don't pick it. On Nokia, if it is 2,5, you can at least buy the small fixpart from 2,5 to 3,5 and can still use your own earphones.
Also, as far as my experience goes, Nokia has a better quality audio output.
