I had "Conficker" or something similar, i was unable to access any Anti-Virus, Anti-Spyware, Anti-Malware sites or Microsoft.com.
This is how i fixed my computer so i could access these sites, update and download packages from these sites.
Click
Start>Run>cmd
type: cd\
Should look like this now:
C:\
type the following should look like this:
C:\net stop dnscache
"press enter"
now you should be able to access these sites to fix/remove the problem.
This worked for me about 1 month ago, after i did a clean installation of XP-SP3.
I connected to the net naked straight after to download AV/AM/AS and i was unable to visit any AV/AM/AS or Microsoft.com,
so if you are having similar problems try the method i used above, then make sure you give it a deep scan with a bunch of different AV/AM/AS.
According to the chart on this site:
http://www.confickerworkinggroup.org/inf...chart.html
(I'm not infected)
I can't remember what tool i used in the end to remove it but it worked.
Currently using Avast Professional, SuperAntiSpyware, Spybot, SpywareBlaster, ZoneAlarm Firewall and some other Anti-Spyware Progs. When i get real paranoid i run other Anti-Virus/Anti-Malware Progs that i have on my comp just not at the same time as this causes problems.
