exactly. i think what i'm going to try doing is writing my dad a letter, since he works offshore, and putting it in his bag. he'll be away for a week and have time to soak in the words. hopefully he'll understand.

That's actually a really good idea man. I hope it works out well, make sure you put what you want him to hear in the letter.
