IMPORTANT: This tutorial requires a Script-Fu Plugin! You can download it here: Glass Script (it works with 2.6+ despite the file name saying 2.4)
Don't know how to install it? Here are instructions:

1. Open your Start Menu and click your User name.

2. Navigate to your folder called .gimp-2.6

3. Navigate to your folder called scripts

4. Save your SCM file here. (not a PY file! those are different!)

Click the new shadow layer and drag it underneath the first glass layer.

FINAL RESULT:

(it looks a little funny on SupportForums' gray background, doesn't it? That's okay. It'll look good on the brown coffee table)
