It's not going to overcharge unless you try and charge it yourself without a proper charger. Do you know what some batteries do when overcharged? Explode. Chargers aren't stupid and aren't going to charge the battery if it doesn't need it. I have a lithium ion battery and it's actually better to leave the laptop plugged in compared to older types of batteries. Luckily most batteries used right now are lithium ion.
