The award does some good though, it does get members to come here and to actually look at the site, without it, this site would likely be way less active than it is now. You will get your low quality members and your high quality ones. Gotta take the good with the bad, eh?

This is true, but at some point we can't keep relying on the feather for activity to fall back on. Majority of users that come for the award never come back anyways, so how is that getting us further activity? It's getting us a higher post count for the forum, and thread count respectably, but if you can't keep members does that mean that you're permanently going to have to rely on that feather just to keep this forum alive?
