Have you tried the repair function from the Programs and Features menu in the control panel? I was having a read about this issue and this was mentioned as working for somebody else. I don't have Word installed on this machine but if you go to Control Panel>Programs and Features then you will see a list of the software installed on your PC. Clicking on your Office package will give you some options. They can be a variety of things: Uninstall/Change, Uninstall/Repair, Change, Repair etc. You will want to choose an option that has Repair or Change in it. You will get a wizzard that should automatically repair issues with your office package. This may not solve your problem, but it has worked for others with the same issue in the past and it can't hurt to try.
