That's kinda like saying "You only have 2 members, you're not allowed to talk about

Also, I'd be interested to know why *you* would change the banner?

Grey is a natural/neutral color, and only clashes with pastel/bland/natural/earthy colors.
That's kinda why SF looks like puke. (No offense to Omni)
The green may not pop out at you, but they just don't mix.

Your forum is new. Having lots of sections makes it look really inactive, which will put people off registering.
And your current banner looks very amateur.

If I put less forums in, the forum looks like there's not much to do/talk about.
If I add more, you say the forum looks inactive. (I'll stick with looking inactive.)

Honestly, the text is what's amateur. Even if I didn't put the name up,
I'd still need to find a ninja themed banner that's red/black/white.
