However I would strongly suggest you don't do it I would recommend using a hardrive caddy and connecting your laptop hardrive to your desktop computer via USB from there you should be able to install linux on it fine.

I forgot about putting in the power supply, My desktop is full of space to expand.
Where do I get these hard drive caddies ? I want to look into them, it'd be nice to have 2 separate hard drives.
With access to both operating systems.
