Boot time is fine, post login is slow.

depends on how many things you have installed on your computer too. I usually leave my computer after I login and press enter. For Vista though, the login time is longer. Windows 7 usually starts up within the first 30 seconds or so when you first get your OS installed on that computer because it doesn't have a whole lot of system processes to load compared to all of the things it has to load after going through all your programs and windows updates for things to load up from Microsoft Corp.

There ARE things you can do to optimize it, but it will never be the same speed from when you first ran the computer with Windows 7 newly formatted.
