I'm guessing I'm going to have to wait until the retail copy of Win7 comes out to do that upgrade? I thought that that CD will wipe everything out though, does it give you an option of keeping your files intact?
I'm currently running the retail version of Ultimate, suits my just fine. XP mode is fun to play around with, but I haven't found it useful to me personally. There aren't many compatibility issues. In fact the only one I can really think of is with firewalls. There isn't a wide selection of working firewalls with Windows 7 yet, not much a problem though since the Windows Firewall has improved greatly.
When you're installing Windows 7 it gives you two options:
1. Custom Install (Wipes your disc)
2. Upgrade (leaves files and programs in tact)
Microsoft kept it pretty simple this time. It only took me 20 minutes from when I ran the setup to when I was using Windows 7.
