In my opinion homework is designed to reinforce and reiterate what you've just been taught, if you don't understand the homework then you haven't grasped the lesson and you need to go over it again.getting up early comes from the very old days, where am assuming- many kids were expected to work straight after into the night, coal mines, cotton mills and so on.
Also, you get up early for school because schools don't want to instill values that you get up late and finish early. When you enter working life you need to be up even earlier and finish even later in most jobs.
home work like has been said is to make sure the stuff they learn from school is kept within memory, its like exams, which are just there to test what the student can remember from the modules they have learnt.
perhaps its to teach self disapline and independance to.
personaly do not agree with it at all [with home work] because when students get home from school, they shoud be able to carry out home life not get stressed over getting their homework done,it can affect the whole family just from one student.
the local education authorities shoud do some limited trials on how different students are without having home work, and see if it affects their educational level,if so by how much.
also,as for the original theme of the topic,it isnt conditioned learning,
have personaly been going through [bad term, but cant think of another word] conditioned learning on a daily basis for most of life including at home, its called ABA [applied behavioral anaylasis].
