Weird PayPal glitch?

Well, I was signing up for a "free domain" trial on this site:
https://www.landrush.ws/ <-- (don't use, it's a scam)

They said I needed to provide a valid paypal account incase they were going to charge in the future, they said nothing about charging anything for signing up.

I signed up, and it made an automatically reoccurring payment and charged me $10.

I canceled the reoccurring payment and disputed the charge and it was instantly refunded.

Any idea how or why this happened?

Thats one sexy hack, I got to tell you that much. Weird, sad, and cool at the same time, but sorry and glad you got out of it!
