I installed the beta some time ago. I cannot stand IE, and haven't been able to since I stopped using it nearly a decade ago. However IE 9 has pleasantly surprised me. I actually don't mind it. In many ways IE9 is comparable to Chrome 6 and Fx3.6 and in other ways it has actually managed to surpass them. From a purely standards point of view, IE9 scores a 95/100 on the Acid3 test. Fx4b scores a 97/100.
Microsoft made decent headway with IE7/8 in pushing Trident to be a more standards-compliant engine. But IE9 goes that extra step forward.
