i asked myself why god would do such a cruel thing to someone who loved him so much and idolized him..... after the divorce i gave up hope and packed everything up in boxes and stuffed it in the basement for a future family to enjoy

Its to make you stronger. He wants to see if you will stand with him through the tough times and to the end. This creates persverance in the end as well.
