Downloads stopped working

Using 2.0.0.3 on a Mac running OS 10.4.9 I can no longer download. No matter where I set my download location I get the following cryptic message. I tried on a clean test account and it works fine. I have some haxies, but have disabled Firefox in APE Manager and booted with them disabled. The "Later" in the string after Desktop is a folder I dump things into. I have no idea why it's pointing there. Thanks for any help

I thought attaching the screenshot I took would make it show up here, but it didn't. Here it is the hard way:

Could you explain what you mean by new profile? I have a clean user account I use to test things. It worked there.

Thanks, but as in my original post, I'm using Mac OS 10.4.9. Any suggestions for a Mac user?
