Search bar too short

When I type "/" I got the search bar. But I think, it goes too quickly away, if I don't type any letters within some few seconds.

How do I do, so the bar don't disappear before I click on the "Close" button?

Maybe an extension?

I am sorta confused. Do you mean by "the search bar is too short" that you want it wider? If so, look here:

Or do you mean every time you type it types in the search bar?!?

Sorry for my text. I mean, that it dissapears too quickly. The bar goes away after about 5 seconds, if you do not type letters in.

It should be there, untill you click "Close bar"

Oh ... I just tried it in Firefox 2 beta, and it doen't disapear

But how do you use the spelling thing?

The spelling thing only works on english version, it works if you type something wrong in the quick reply form for example, adds an red line under that word.
