Is there anything I should know? I plan on doing it for testing the security of a few things, nothing malicious. Do I have to have any prior knowledge of anything?

Do I have to have any prior knowledge of anything? Some experience in bash would be very helpful. Also, do you understand that to get wireless through the platform, there's a vigorous driver download/installation task that's very difficult to undergo when you have little knowledge of Linux? If you have no prior Linux knowledge, I'd recommend spending a few weeks on Ubuntu to familiarize yourself with how everything works. Success is the sum of small efforts, repeated day in and day out.
