No, I don't encourage it. I would love to obtain the ability to give out my reputation point as I see fits...but I can't, because I have to reach the 100 post milestone. I've been here since the forum started, I still don't have 100 posts. I don't want to have to resort to spamming the forum in order to do this. If a reputation point was given to you wrongly, you report this to the staff, you don't raise the post count required to be able to give them out. What's next? A 500 post requirement? Get real.

250 posts would not actually be that good of an idea. You are right people are flocking in to try and gain the award. However the entire reasoning behind the award is to try and promote the site. Once you have 100 posts you know your way around and begin to understand things more.

100 posts is plenty. I'm mainly a lurker of forums. I never post unless I have knowledge on a subject or very helpful information to share. I've only reached 250 posts on two forums before. I don't see how increasing the post count required would prevent -rep abuse rather than delay it. I think removing Anonymous repping would assist with preventing -rep abuse better than an increased post requirement could.

I think reputation should be possible to give at 0 or 50 posts. I agree with Psycho, everyone should be allowed to give you their opinion of the user. If its wronged, then you can always report it. I don't really use it much, I don't see much of a use of it. But still.

Well for this i think for rep you have to have 105+ posts not 250!
