New Power Supply
#1
I just bought and installed a new 750w power supply. I hooked it up, and everything worked beautifully, until the next morning when i tried to turn it on. I pressed the power switch, and nothing happened. I flipped the power toggle on the back of the PSU a couple of times and still nothing. So I turned it off and waited until everthing discharged, and then tried again, and it came on. It has done this one more time since then, and its kinda got me worried.

Maybe you should first stop using this power supply thing? I'm not sure after that.

What? Do you even know what you're talking about?

What brand is your PSU? try to take out your PCI Cards (If you have), i mean just put a minimum load on the power supply, take out any extra drivers you have and then try to switch back on. Check all of your connections on the motherboard, probably there's a loss of connectivity somewhere on the board.

Make sure your not overloading power on the motherboard, or that the PSU isn't actually dead.

Its a brand new PSU though. And its an Apevia 750w. Plenty of power to go around, especially since my graphics card had to be taken out and sent in for replacement :/ the only other things i have are one wireless network card, and one dvd drive... and a floppy drive (dont ask)

Well, the reason I bought this power supply was because my old 550w was failing. It wasnt putting out enough power, and my system would crash when I tried to play games. Do you think low power would damage a motherboard?

No, but if you put more power than the motherboard can handle, you could possibly damage it.

Well, it was an older psu, and theres no way it wouldve put out too much power... So its more than likely a defective power supply, right?
