Apple Haters that have never touched a Mac.
#81
Main reason most people hate macs is because of the price so they hate on apple. Why? They can't afford it/ as CodeKing said macs are for people like "musicians, web developers." You can't get a mac and say lets go to walmart and buy damn Call of duty....but you can get a mac and say I want to edit pictures, videos, upload music at high speeds while surfing the web. Which is why mac earns a higher representation. But since most people are window fanboys they bash macs. We all know vista copied mac shhhh! don't let the windows fansboys know they might panic and make windows 7 lol.=p

I agree, I think it was japon in IRC that said "fudge macs until I can afford a mac, but then...go macs!"
Also, you can get CoD on OS X Thumbsup

I've got nothing against OS X itself; but Apple made it extremely difficult. They only specialise in making Hardware (iPods; iMacs etc) and that's what makes them so expensive. OS X can install on other system's, for example, I installed it on my Compaq Presario C700 laptop. Apple make their money from the harddware; all you are paying for is a aluminum box. Apple know that you can install it on other PC's; which is why they don't allow doing it. Because then they wuoldn't get as much money. I bet if they were like Windows and only based themselves on the Software side of things; no one would care about them.
At the top will be the same place you hang from.

There are many advantages that go along with having the hardware tied to the software, that's part of what makes OS X so hassle-free, no need to worry about drivers etc

But why pay 2.5k for drivers? You can just get them from looking around on the net anyway; you don't need to buy a Mac just so you can use OS X.

Do you know the meaning of etc, I was using drivers as an example of one of the many advantages of having hardware tied with software, there's more control, the OS developers don't have to waste time making everything work with every piece of hardware under the sun and they can focus on other things, the OS developers can write programs/make an API that integrate better with the hardware, this is beneficial for the developers and the company in general, as well as for the consumer as they end up with a far more streamlined, integrated OS, there's also the support aspect...you can ring Apple for hardware AND OS X support, I mean on the PC side of things you have your OS developer and your actual hardware vendor...and if you have a custom built PC or you have customized it a bit good luck getting help from the manufacturer.
Sure...Apple's whole 'we'll do everything' 'business model' is annoying for some, and if they were to open up a bit more...it would ruin the whole Apple 'experience'.

Ofcourse, having the software developed specifically for the Harddware is great.. for the developers. It means a higher demand in the hardware, which brings more to pay on the customers. How is that better for me, as a customer?

And if Apple know that it works on Intel Based PC's, why wouldn't they support it? It's just another way for them to make money. It's like they don't exactly care about the customers, whatever makes more money for them is better then having full on Support from every day people.

The developers don't care about how much something sells, they just develop software.
Anyway, the developers being able to put more work into the quality of the operating system and not compatibility with everything - that is how it benefits you, and there is also the support aspect...I'd go into it but I already did in the previous post; I can think of many more advantages but I really feel that writing a huge paragraph at the moment is unneeded.

If you knew more about Apple, you'd realize that they do care about their customers, just watch the 'Welcome to Macintosh' documentary and you'll see what I mean, and there is more to a computer than the CPU 'brand', there's the graphics card, the sound card, the motherboard, blah blah blah.

You would think out of all the members on this forum, someone would come up with a better argument against Macs.
