BRAND New to Linux Ubuntu 12.04(Help needed)

Heard good things, tired of Windows 7.

Wiped my HD and installed Linux, but after much effort googling I simply can't get JRE 7 to work.

I have it downloaded but I cant activate the plugin in Google Chrome or Firefox.


ANY help is appreciated.

Also looking for help to customize desktop with "wobbly windows"

I have teamviewer installed, and after many "crackpot" google tutorials I might have installed more crap then good stuff. Anyone who knows alot about linux please feel free to help me sort through my stuff


Also, a "Winbuntu 7" theme would be pretty nice if someone knew how to do it. Seeing as its what im used to.

Are you using SunJRE or OpenJDK? Whichever you're using, try switching them.
