Seriously, I hate call of duty it's such a waste of money IMO, every single call of duty is basically the same, only thing different is maybe new maps and slightly news guns / perks.
A call of duty game is like 70 dollars think they could atleast make it worth the money? whats so different between mw3 and mw2 for real though?
what do you guys think about this?

Surprisingly, there's HUGE differences between all of the call of dutys, you have to be an avid CoD gamer to notice them though. You can't just straight out say it's a waste of money if you haven't tried it out for a while. I used to be a Halo player, until I tried CoD online. Now CoD is my favourite. (apart from Saints Row 3 and GTA SA)

According to the creators the engine received an update now called MW3 engine instead of IW 5.0. New game mode is added called survival mode, as well as new guns, the three new pointstreak tiers (previously killstreak) assault, support and specialist. A whole new campaign which continues on after MW2 and new playable maps. Also Elite and many other features.

I hate when people say "MW3 is just a re-textured version of MW2" when it's not. It has a much different feel from MW2 which I quite enjoy. The only bad thing about the game is the lag compensation.

I don't like Call of Duty either, but I have only played one of them, so maybe it was just the one that was shitty. Someone told me Call of Duty 4 is good, and then bought it for me on Steam. .-. I still haven't played it, but only because my laptop is falling apart.
Less experienced gamers tend to say CoD is amazing, while ones who've played more games say it's terrible. I've also seen some YouTube videos of it, and the majority of the people playing it seem to be very young. So I'm not really sure. Maybe it's popular just for being popular.

I'm still a fan of it but I agree that it's not as unique as people seem to make it out. The campaign is probably what changes the most along with some new tweaks in multiplayer but ultimately it does seem like we're getting the same experience again with just a new look.
WaW did add in some new stuff though so I'll give Treyarch credit for that such as the co-op and the awesome zombie mode. They also put some good work into the zombie maps as I felt they were worth $$$ always.

I don't enjoy the game, I have it at my house, including MW3, but I don't play it. Haven't played it in weeks. And MW2, haven't played it in months. I only play if a friend comes over and wants to play it, but I don't really enjoy it that much after a while.

If there are any updates in the game engine as mentioned above, they are pretty darn minimal. That's the reason they can pump out games so quickly between two studios - same game engine, just different plot. And maybe a few new weapons and game modes. Which in itself is the definition of an EXPANSION.
