Yes, I know I hate the new Gmail Set up too, I'd love to switch back to the old one but I don't think you are allowed too, Same thing happened to YouTube, they just made the Channel Setup worse, that's why i didn't switch .

The web is changing, so is Google in design. I like the new layout. It seems efficient
