Why do Americans pronounce words differently?

English is a foreign language to me. Try speaking American its the only language I understand.

Of course this is a cultural difference, but to me England seems to have a different way of speaking. In my personal opinion "diaper" sounds more formal than "nappy". Just in my opinion though.

Boot vs hood.
Cap vs bonnet
hood vs bonnet
Tea vs coke (um..)
Usually the lower class from other countries came to usa, and brought their dialects.

They also messed up the spelling of words to try and take our language as their own, really annoying when you get English people spelling things with z's.

Diaper, and mom are the "normal" words Americans use.

It is American Grammar that annoys me . I have auto correct on and when I type a word such as ' Colour ' It says its wrong.

Stuff like that I find stupid .

Same with these words, they word them differently -

Colour > color
Honour > honor
Trousers/Jeans > pants
Car > vehicle

That might help you understand a little better, I'm reading through it myself but I don't understand the reason behind it all either.

I felt like England's words were more of slang rather than the actual dictionary words.
