If you got money : I would say go with IPB instead.

If you want it free : MyBB beats hell out of other forum softwares.

vBulletin it is used for most of the forums I like, although MyBB isn't terrible.

MyBB- I love the plugins and releases from the MyBB community forums and the releases from Labrocca.

MyBB is free and plugins are free
vBulletin is more professional and if you have it legally paid for there are some freakin awesome themes and plugins!
