Most people build desktops, but since laptops are much smaller I'd imagine it would be easier.

Quite hard as its very complex you have to buy a barebones and also its not really building you can only really "Upgrade"

im just a noob so my advice may be crap but
I took my old laptop apart and I could only get as far as:
removing keyboard, hardrive, 2 ram modules
the WLAN card, and practically everything else was... "bolted/melted" in? as in it will be impossible to remove
this was with a toshiba satelite though
slowly getting better

Theres diffrent parts to it so im gussing it would be a tad bit harder to find the hard ware you want plus it would prob cost more $$

Custom PC is super easy, laptop would be a lot harder, smaller space and compact parts...
