Honestly, I've never heard of that, lol, I'll have to look into that since Dell's get pretty hot as well :/

I agree allot with this post. I own the HP Pavilion DV9500 and it kept over heating then the heat sink it now messed up. Also the video card isn't fully working due to heat issues it's melted it. So it's now useless and only can use VGA and can't even run like Minecraft. So mad.

Also, I've called Dell support today to get help installing my adapter driver, the support was about 7/10.
Not as bad as some think, just gota be under warranty.

I've always thought of HP as being the "Walmart" or "Kmart" of the pc world. That's why I've steered away from them. It's like comparing a Suzuki to a Honda. Which would you take?

On the other hand, I know how difficult it is to swap Dell parts out, so I've started building my own machines a few years ago. I tend to be able to get more bang for my buck that way.

Which side am I on overall? Dell.

I have had my little Dell Studio 1535 for a little over 4 years, and I love it. Never fails me. The only thing I can't do on it is Game, and half of that is because I use Linux (so it's harder to) and the other half is it's a laptop and the graphics aren't made for gaming on a laptop. I can multitask like hell though, without much slowing down, and as long as I replace the thermal-paste on the cpu once every two months it stays cool.

My friend has an HP that get's on once WindBLows boots up. Stays hot the whole time he uses it. And, it's almost brand new (compared to mine) and cost $100 more.

Dell for the win.

Dell is overpriced, HP is good price/quality. However, Dell owns Alienware and I must admit they are very very well build systems, they are just too expensive.

I believe in the old saying, "You get what you pay for."

A $500 computer may work just fine, but a $1,000 is great.
