Problem with ATI IXP SB400 AC'97 Audio Controller

My friend have Linux Mint.. everything works fine but no sound... can anyone help.. i was googling and see many ppl have same problem but i can find solution..

So i ask someone to help.

I had that same problem with an internal speaker. I just plugged in external speakers and the sound worked though so maybe try that.
