driver problems

alright my cuz brought me his computer its a acer 2.0 GHz processor 512 ram came with vista. it ran horrible slow so i put linux mint on it but for some reason it doesn't want to find the wireless drivers.any ideas? never really had this problem with linux before.
ok i decided to change it from mint to ubuntu satanic edition cause he likes it better.what are the chances of having the same driver problem tho?

It all depends on the drivers that are bundled with the distribution, I suggest throwing plain Ubuntu on there rather than the stupid modifications; they just get in the way.
Also; just wait it out a few days until Karmic Koala final is released as there are a lot of driver 'fixes' in that release.
