I think there's too much going on in the background alongside the effects on the main character.
Try choosing a C4D with less going on. Other than that, the pink glowing spots should be a reddish, matching the characters clothes.

I like the concept, and it's contrast, I don't think they should be red instead of pink though from what Deltron has said. I think that would make the image too bland. But other than that, If your title wasn't "When the moon comes up" I would have wondered what the circle is in the background. It doesn't seem like a moon at all. It's hard to make that out.

This might be my favourite piece of yours. Only thing I would criticise is those purple dots I would probaly change them to silver or white. Apart from that I'm liking it.

It's pretty much awesome, how much time did it took you?
The only problem I see, is you get lost in all those details. Besides from that I love it. Hurt the one you love and you'll be hurting your life. 'Nuff said.
