Advertising tips?

So far, I know I should do some Metatags.
I'm gonna advertise on other forums.

What more should I do, to advertise my forum?

There is other sections though, offcourse.

Meta tags and keywords wont take more than a minute.
If you're willing to spend, use Adwords and Facebook ads, or pay to advertise on other sites and forums.
If not, promote on webmaster and promotion forums such as DigitalPoint.
Submit your link to directories.
Also remember to use anchor text when posting your link on other forums.

To start out, I would recommend investing some money into a google sponsorship or something to get your link out to a lot of people. That will get you your first boom of activity. You just need to make sure that they are interested in what they see after they are caught by your advertisement too. Advertise on social networks because they are popular today. Facebook, Twitter, etc. You could even try youtube for a little extra.

Sign up to Google Analytics as well, it will give you information about each page, so that you can see where most of your activity is directed within and outside of your site, such as the bounce rate, and which web browser is used most commonly by visitors to your site.
