Acer is amazing, I have one of their monitors (isn't a 23 inch though). They make somewhat smaller ones that are cheaper too.

I would go with an Asus monitor, they make a few great ones.

I think you can buy the Mac's monitor by itself, that'll be a good monitor for gaming

I'd have to suggest an Acer 22" or higher. I've always had great luck with Acer.

Don't buy a EZ LCD, their support is horrid.
