I cant remember who created it or even the name but there is an equation for working out if we are alone in the universe and even with the most pessimistic inputs we can feasibly input we still end up with 20-30 other species in our galaxy,about 10 of which are spacefaring.
With kind of standard inputs we get about 500 Norm and 100 Spacefaring.
With very optimistic inputs you end up about 150000-30000 for both sides.
So yeah,we are probably not alone.
