Just show your borther your there for him and tell him your'll protect him, and keep that promise. If kids are actually picking on him like making fun of him or stuff like that, advise the teacher. It sounds stupid, but it can help, more so in a lower grade rank.

Like I said, the best thing you can do is be there for him and show him how much you care about your brother. Showing a bit of tlc to your brother will not make you seem week, you'll be shwoing your strong for him.

Great post. I think OP should be more open to his brother and help him overcome his problems.

I am autistic, and wish I had a brother like you to talk to.

Can your parents afford home schooling? If so, invest in it and take him out and let him have fun frequently to keep him on the up and up. That's the only suggestion I have..

In my opinion, things like these are a sign that a person needs to be themselves, and enjoy life for their own reasons, not for what other people expect them to be. Although these kinds of things can be hard, people that learn this at a young age typically grow older to be quite successful ;).

Just give your brother some hope. Sounds like he needs it.

For one, I personally do not believe it takes a therapist to help a person. In fact, the love of a brother (you) is probably better then any form of therapy. You have the ability to help him if you choose. Your position as a brother is what matters most the right now. You need to step up and assume the responsibility of helping him. I suggest you start by informing him that he can tell you anything, and talk to you about anything. Next, be open with him and be understanding of anything he tells you. You're his brother, and you seem like you care. The fact that you made a thread here indicates that you want to help your bother. So do so. Hope is not lost because you cannot afford professional help. The term professional is overrated in my opinion. It just means you have credentials to do what you're doing, and you get paid. You are his brother. You can connect with him better than any stranger.

Good luck.

Both of those posts were magnificent, they've both helped me a lot.

Just wanted to give you guys a little update.

My brother has switched to a smaller school, there are a lot less people there and most of them are very friendly. He's still got the occasional bully, but he now has friends to help overcome it. It's really nice to see him happy, he's taken an interest into a lot of others things in his life now. He's really blooming.

Thanks everybody for your help, I really appreciate it.

Try to make him happy, make him ignore the kids at school.

Is it possible for you to incorporate him with you and your friends sometimes? The best thing for him is to build up his self-esteem, I'm sure your friends wouldn't mind him tagging a long once in a while and I'm sure it will help him a lot.

Get him some weed Big Grin, but seriously just bring him out for a nice time, take him to the arcade or something, it will raise his self-esteem.

Find something that he really would love to do and get those kids to stop teasing him! Just make life easier and better for him.
