The best linux OS for new users?

When I get an old laptop, I am going to be putting a linux OS on it.

Any recommendations?

I would go with Ubuntu 10.10. It is quick and easy to get started with, and has a lot of software that will make Linux easy for beginners.

well if you are a new user i think it's better to use linux with kde ui which is similar to the windows one
