#1
Ok, so i am 14, 6'2, and ~255 lbs. I am not neccsairly fat because i have alot of muscle but i do have a little bit of a gut on me. I am thinking about doing the following routine for about 1 week then upping it each week to lose alittle weight, tell me what you think. all of these are per day except sunday

~week 1 ~
walk / run 1 mi. each day
100 sit ups
50 push ups
50 jumping jacks
10 minutes of shadow boxing
10 reps of 25 lbs on each arm (curl)
~week 2~
walk / run 1 1/2 mi. each day
125 sit ups
75 push ups
75 jumping jacks
15 minutes of shadow boxing
20 reps of 25 lbs on each arm (curl)
~week 3~
walk / run 2 mi. each day
150 sit ups
100 push ups
100 jumping jacks
20 minutes of shadow boxing
30 reps of 25 lbs on each arm (curl)

it would just continue upgrading like this

I wouldn't recommend doing weights are your age.. it can stunt growth, although it sounds like you've grown a lot already.
At the top will be the same place you hang from.

Seems like a pretty intense schedule.

That's not necessarily true. I've been weight lifting since I was 13 and i'm 6'1 now.

You can read this if you wish.

Anyways, that workout to me, doesn't seem very well organized. You don't have anything that you can do for your back. If you can do pullups somewhere, add those in.

Also, training everyday except Sunday?

Good luck trying that out bud, that's like Navy SEAL fitness. No joke.

Feel free to shoot me a PM if you want answers, my father was a bodybuilder and in the Military.

Regards,
Zurmi

Just because you're tall doesn't mean you've stopped growing.

Weight lifting isn't always bad for you, and can actually be quite good for you if you use proper form. However, I play pitcher in baseball so I usually do lots of reps on little weight. 25 lbs on curl isn't that much, and I don't really see how it could harm him if he made sure that there wasn't any pain (there's a difference between being pain and being sore) in his arms. As for the curl ups and push ups, that's a pretty nice progression we do something similar to that in our athletics class at school. I'd like to hear how this workout program turns out for you.

Sorry guys, I didn't mean that it would be bad for him, I meant it can. Tongue I'm not a specialist on this subject though, tis just what I've been told from my school teachers / parents. Smile

The only way you could ruin your growth is by using improper form and ruining your growth plates.

And if you can do it, go for it.
