Can debian be installed in a dual boot with xp and ubuntu and if so is debians installation option like ubuntu in which you can install it side by side.

ubuntu is an African word for "I can't configure Debian"
seriously, just overwrite ubuntu

Yes it can. But its hard to set it up. Be careful.

You might want to get more knowledge before you attempt this and corrupt everything on your computer.
