Gimp issue.

After i grayscale an image it won't let me put a colour on top of it, on a new layer. How do i properly grayscale a layer?

Hmm... I use PS... So I don't really know... xd
Maybe use gradient maps and not grayscale things?

I recommend just colouring the image grey instead:

Setting the image to grayscale switches off the RGB color mode. If you want to make an image greyscale and you still want to use other colors, click Colors > Desaturate.
