Regulations concerning these claims have changed in the past years. The financial regulator known as the FSA has been aggressively pursuing the issue since 2006. In 2010 the FSA launched new rules on the matter, and in 2011 the High Court ruled that these rules would stand after they were challenged by the British Banker's Association. The Competition Commission has also been involved in this matter and has made new demands on lenders in 2011 and 2012. Many cases, especially those that go to an ombudsman, are decided in the favour of consumers regarding reclamation of monies from these policies.
